The short answer
The verified tick sits beside an organiser's name on their event pages and their organiser page. It tells a buyer one thing: this organiser has run events on One Ticket before, sold tickets, and looked after the people who bought them.
You earn it with all of these at once: at least 3 past events that sold tickets; at least 25 tickets sold across them, where free tickets count and refunded ones do not; payouts verified; no refund request sitting with One Ticket support; and once guests have left 10 ratings, an average of 4 stars or more, with no event that 3 guests said did not go ahead. The record is checked every night, so the tick appears the morning after you reach it.
Payouts verified happens on its own after your first paid event that went cleanly: tickets sold, no refunds, no refund requests and no reports that it did not go ahead, once its money has been released two days after the night. That is why an organiser who has only run free events has no tick yet. There is no paid event to show that ticket money was looked after.
The tick goes as soon as the record stops earning it. A chargeback takes it away until One Ticket support has looked. A refund request you leave unanswered goes to support and takes it away while it is open. An average under 4 stars from 10 or more ratings takes it away, and so do 3 guests saying an event did not go ahead.
You can sell without it. On a paid event from an organiser without the tick, buyers see that their payment is held until after the event and refunded if it does not go ahead, which is often all a new buyer wants to know.

Which fits your event?
Start from the one requirement that decides it.
| Your main requirement | Start with |
|---|---|
| Your first paid event is coming up | Paid out two days after it; that event can verify your payouts, on One Ticket |
| Only free events so far | No tick yet: it needs one paid event that went cleanly |
| Three events and 25 tickets, nothing outstanding | The tick, checked overnight, on One Ticket |
| A chargeback, or a refund request left unanswered | The tick goes until it is settled |
Nobody can buy the tick or ask for it. It is the record, read every night.
How it works in practice
The same rules for everybody, read from the record rather than asked for.
| What is checked | The rule |
|---|---|
| Events | 3 past events that sold tickets |
| Tickets | 25 sold across them; free count, refunded do not |
| Money | Payouts verified: a first paid event with no refunds, refund requests or reports |
| Refund requests | None waiting with One Ticket support |
| Guest ratings | From 10 ratings, an average of 4 stars or more |
| Did it go ahead | No event that 3 guests said did not |
| When | Every night; losing it takes effect at once |
One Ticket for a recurring room
Everything below follows from one decision: a series is one object, not a list of dates.
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Who came back | After every session: how many came, how many had been before, who is new and who has stopped coming, by name, with an address to write to |
| Subscriptions | One subscription covers every session in a series. Each night's ticket is minted ahead of time |
| Paid out | Every ticket is charged to your own Stripe account. A new account is paid out to your bank two days after each event, once guests have said how it went; after a first clean event it is paid out as it sells |
| Fees | No platform fee on the ticket price. The buyer pays a booking fee: a platform tier of 35c to $1.45 a ticket, then 1.5% of the price above $100, plus card processing. On a $25 ticket that is $1.45 all in, so the buyer pays $26.45. Free tickets cost nothing |
| Refund if it changes | Move the date, start time or place after people have booked and every one of them can refund in full, booking fee included, until it starts, whatever your refund policy says. You are warned before you save, and everyone booked is emailed the new details |
| Refund requests | On a case-by-case event the buyer asks from their ticket. You have 3 days to refund or decline; a request nobody answers goes to One Ticket support, and your payouts are held until it is settled |
| Guest ratings | After each event, ticket holders rate it: stars and a few words. From 5 ratings the average shows under your name on every event page, good or bad. Notes are for you alone, and never say who wrote them |
| Scam protection | Every page is read before it can send an email, and our emails carry none of an organiser's own links or phone numbers. A new organiser's money is held until after the event, and anyone can report an event from its page |
| Verified tick | Earned by selling here: 3 past events, 25 tickets, no chargebacks, no ignored refund requests, and an average of 4 stars once there are 10 ratings. A chargeback or an ignored request takes it away at once |
| Block a person | Block an address from a ticket type, for this event or every one after it. No public list, no conversation at the door |
| Your page | Your colours, your title font, your cover. Nobody else's event on it |
| Import | Paste an Eventbrite link and the title, description, date, venue and ticket types come across |
| Not included | A marketplace. There is no search page and no audience to sell into; the people are the ones you bring |
Common questions
- Can I pay for the verified tick?
- No. It is earned by selling on One Ticket and cannot be bought or requested.
- I only run free events. Can I get the tick?
- Not on free events alone. The tick needs one paid event that went cleanly, because that is what shows ticket money was looked after. After that, free events count towards the 3 events and 25 tickets.
- How long does it take to show?
- The record is read every night, so the tick appears the morning after you reach all of the rules.
- What do buyers see if I do not have it?
- Nothing against you. On a paid event they see that their payment is held until after the event and refunded if it does not go ahead.
- Can I lose the tick?
- Yes, at once: a chargeback, a refund request left for One Ticket support, an average under 4 stars from 10 or more ratings, or 3 guests saying an event did not go ahead. It comes back when the record earns it again.
