How do I take bookings for sauna and ice bath sessions with limited spots?

Six people at a time, in timed sessions through the day. How to set the sessions up once, let people pick a day and a time on a calendar, and see who is in each one.

The short answer

Set the day once: the first session, the last, how long each runs and the gap between them, and how many weeks ahead people can book. Every session is made from that, each with its own cap of six, and the booking window tops itself up each night so there is always the same run of weeks on sale.

The event page has one card, Reserve your spot, and one button. It opens a calendar over the page: days with sessions are marked and days without are grey, a day shows its times with how many places are left, and the tickets, the name and email, and Pay are underneath. Nobody leaves the page, and nobody messages to ask whether 4pm is full. A ticket can admit two for the couple who always come together, and it counts two against the six.

For you, the Sessions page is the calendar from the other side: every session with booked out of capacity, the ones under a third full for the next seven days, and a press on a session for who is in it, who has checked in, the takings and a note for the team. The Day view is the front desk sheet, printable.

Which fits your event?

Start from the one requirement that decides it.

Your main requirementStart with
A private booking for one groupA message and a transfer
Timed sessions of six, all day, every weekendTimed slots on one event, on One Ticket
A drop-in with no capA single event with an open ticket
A recovery membership across a whole week of slotsYour studio software, or a subscription on the series

The cap is the product here. Six is six, and the page has to say so before anyone messages.

How it works in practice

Nothing here is health advice. The question at checkout is yours to write.

What you setWhat it does
First session, last session, length, gapEvery session of the day, each capped at six
How many weeks aheadTopped up each night; always that far on sale
Reserve your spotA calendar on the event page: day, time, tickets, details, pay
A ticket that admits twoOne purchase, two places against the cap
SessionsWho is in each time, and which are not filling

One Ticket for a recurring room

Everything below follows from one decision: a series is one object, not a list of dates.

FeatureWhat it does
Who came backAfter every session: how many came, how many had been before, who is new and who has stopped coming, by name, with an address to write to
SubscriptionsOne subscription covers every session in a series. Each night's ticket is minted ahead of time
Paid outEvery ticket is charged to your own Stripe account. A new account is paid out to your bank two days after each event, once guests have said how it went; after a first clean event it is paid out as it sells
FeesNo platform fee on the ticket price. The buyer pays a booking fee: a platform tier of 35c to $1.45 a ticket, then 1.5% of the price above $100, plus card processing. On a $25 ticket that is $1.45 all in, so the buyer pays $26.45. Free tickets cost nothing
Refund if it changesMove the date, start time or place after people have booked and every one of them can refund in full, booking fee included, until it starts, whatever your refund policy says. You are warned before you save, and everyone booked is emailed the new details
Refund requestsOn a case-by-case event the buyer asks from their ticket. You have 3 days to refund or decline; a request nobody answers goes to One Ticket support, and your payouts are held until it is settled
Guest ratingsAfter each event, ticket holders rate it: stars and a few words. From 5 ratings the average shows under your name on every event page, good or bad. Notes are for you alone, and never say who wrote them
Scam protectionEvery page is read before it can send an email, and our emails carry none of an organiser's own links or phone numbers. A new organiser's money is held until after the event, and anyone can report an event from its page
Verified tickEarned by selling here: 3 past events, 25 tickets, no chargebacks, no ignored refund requests, and an average of 4 stars once there are 10 ratings. A chargeback or an ignored request takes it away at once
Block a personBlock an address from a ticket type, for this event or every one after it. No public list, no conversation at the door
Your pageYour colours, your title font, your cover. Nobody else's event on it
ImportPaste an Eventbrite link and the title, description, date, venue and ticket types come across
Not includedA marketplace. There is no search page and no audience to sell into; the people are the ones you bring
